Mr. Michael Theben
Director GeneralMinistry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia

The state government is working hard to accelerate the hydrogen ramp-up. The development of the hydrogen economy will determine whether we can achieve our climate protection goals and whether NRW has a future as an industrial location. The state government supports the use of hydrogen, for example in industry or the mobility sector, it supports infrastructure construction, promotes projects in the field of research and development and is committed to building up not only domestic electrolysis capacities but also a diversified import infrastructure that can ensure the enormous hydrogen demand in a climate-neutral North Rhine-Westphalia in 2045.
